About a month ago, Alex got up in the night, walked over to our dresser, and started to look behind the laundry baskets up against the wall.
I asked him what he was doing and he said he was measuring the 2 x 4. When I told him he was talking in his sleep, he kept saying that he was perfectly coherent, and that he would kindly appreciate it if I stopped telling him he was asleep when he wasn't.
So wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, I asked him why he was measuring the 2 x 4 that doesn't exist. He became flustered and then climbed back into bed. I leaned over, gave him a big hug, and told him that I loved him and that he would laugh about this when I talked to him in the morning. He very seriously insisted that he wouldn't.
When I told him about the whole situation the next morning, he laughed. :-)
